The Atlanta Braves, fresh off of a series-win against the 2nd place New York Mets, open a series in Miami against the Marlins who are in...2nd place.

Lineup

Here's how Atlanta will lineup for the contest

A day after a HBP forced Ronald Acuña Jr to leave game two of the Mets doubleheader, he's back in the lineup, leading off and playing right field as usual. Marcell Ozuna gets another chance to try and bring up the .085 batting average with his first start at designated hitter since the third game of the previous Marlins series, where he went 1-2 versus Sandy Alcantara. Eddie Rosario plays left field and bats fifth, while Ozzie Albies drops to sixth while Michael Harris at seven and Vaughn Grissom bats ninth.

Pitching Matchup

Starting for the Braves is Bryce Elder. On the season, the righty is 2-0 with a 2.17 ERA in his five starts, but struggled against Miami last week. He lasted only 5.1 innings, giving up five hits and four runs, with three of them being solo shots: Jesus Sanchez, Jazz Chisholm, and Avisail Garcia all took him deep.

The opposing starter is the same starter as last week's game, Sandy Alcantara. On the season, he's 1-2 with a 5.04 ERA. He struggled against Atlanta last week, as well, getting pulled with two outs in the 6th after an Austin Riley double and two consecutive walks loaded the bases. Reliever Huascar Brazobán promptly gave up an RBI single to Vaughn Grissom, although the 2nd run didn't score after Eddie Rosario got thrown out at the plate to end the inning. The Braves went on to score six unanswered runs and won the matchup, 6-4.
