Lineup, how to watch Dansby Swanson's return to Atlanta as the Cubs come to town on Tuesday night

It's going to be a fun matchup, as Justin Steele brings his MLB-best homer rate into Truist Park to face the best power-hitting team in all of baseball and Dansby Swanson makes his Atlanta return

This is going to be a fun one.

The Atlanta Braves kick off their final home stand of the season with a matchup against the Chicago Cubs, who are battling for a Wild Card spot in the National League. It's Dansby Swanson's first game back in Atlanta since signing as a free agent with the Cubs this offseason. What kind of reception does he get?

Chicago's throwing their studs, with tonight's starter being their Cy Young candidate, Justin Steele. It's an interesting question of what happens when an immovable object meets an unstoppable force, as Atlanta leads baseball in pretty much all measures of power hitting, while Steele sports the league's lowest homer rate at only 0.7 homers per nine innings.

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, September 26th

Here's how the Braves are lining up for the opener:

Atlanta's going with their usual lefty-hitting lineup, but in a different order. Kevin Pillar checks in to left field for Eddie Rosario and bats 9th, while Sean Murphy is tonight's catcher and bats 8th. Orlando Arcia and Michael Harris II bump up from their usual #8 & 9 spots to bat 6th and 7th, respectively.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, September 26th

Starting for the Braves is Bryce Elder. 12-4 with a 3.63 ERA, the 2023 All Star has stabilized a bit after his rough post-ASB period. Looking like he'll be Atlanta's #3 starter in the postseason, Elder's looking for a good outing against Chicago tonight. He did not have that when he last faced the Cubs, at Wrigley Field on August 5th: seven runs (five earned) on seven hits in only 4.1 innings of a 8-6 Cubs win. Swanson took Elder deep in that game, while Christopher Morel and Cody Bellinger picked up RBIs in the win.

Justin Steele is putting his 16-5 record and 3.00 ERA on the line today in Atlanta. Striking out 170 in his 168 innings, the lefty's made 29 starts and is also looking for a better sequel against the Braves - in his first start against Atlanta, on August 6th, Steele allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits in just 5.1 innings in a 6-4 Braves win. He struck out seven, but walked four and gave up a 3rd-inning homer to Matt Olson.
