Imagine a hotter team than this Atlanta Braves team. You can't.

The Atlanta Braves have won seven straight games, their third such streak in the last twenty-five games. Their offense remains one of the best in baseball, especially in the first inning, where they have more five run first innings in the last week (three) than the next closest team, the Arizona Diamondbacks, have on the entire season (two).

Atlanta's trying to make it eight straight games as they look for a series sweep against Miami this afternoon in Truist Park.

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, July 2nd

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

As is customary for a day game after a late afternoon/night game, Atlanta's swapping catchers and going with Travis d'Arnaud behind the plate in lieu of Sean Murphy, who started the first two games of the series. Marcell Ozuna is the DH, batting 6th, and Eddie Rosario in in left field and batting 7th

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins on Sunday, July 2nd

Starting for the Atlanta Braves on Sunday is Spencer Strider. One of the favorites for Cy Young in the National League, Strider is 9-2 with a 3.73 ERA in his sixteen starts. He's struck out a MLB-leading one hundred and forty six batters at a MLB-leading 14.3 K/9 pace, and has walked only 32 in his 91.2 innings pitched. His previous start against Miami, on April 24th, was his best of the season: Eight scoreless innings with only two hits, no walks, and thirteen strikeouts in an Atlanta 11-0 victory at Truist Park.

Opposing Atlanta is 2022's National League Cy Young Award winner, Sandy Alcantara. The big righty is 3-6 with a 4.82 ERA in sixteen starts this season, striking out only 82 in his 102.2 innings pitched. It's not been a great season for Alcantara, although he did okay against Atlanta in his last start on April 26th: Five and two-thirds innings with four hits and only two runs, striking out six with three walks.
