Great News for Sal Frelick, Milwaukee Brewers

In this story:
If you're a Milwaukee Brewers fan wondering when Sal Frelick will return to the field, we now have a loose answer.
Frelick has been on a minor league rehab assignment and has been starting to heat up at the plate. Frelick's rehab assignment began on Aug. 8 and he's batting .281 with two home runs in nine games played with Triple-A Nashville.
While this is the case, Frelick has not been activated yet. But his time is coming. In fact, Brewers manager Pat Murphy shared on Saturday that the current expectation is that he will be activated when the Brewers face off against the New York Mets this upcoming week, as shared on X by Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920.
"Pat Murphy said the plan is for Sal Frelick to return to the Brewers this coming week in New York," Baumgardt wrote.
Sal Frelick Is Just About Back

Milwaukee will kick off a three-game series against the Mets on Tuesday. The series will run through Thursday, Aug. 27. Milwaukee took down the Atlanta Braves on Friday to kick off a three-game series behind Jacob Misiorowski. On Saturday, the Brewers took Game 2 behind Logan Henderson. The Brewers and Braves will wrap up the series on Sunday with Milwaukee sending Shane Drohan to the hill in the MLB Little League Classic in Williamsport, PA.
Then, Milwaukee will have a day off on Monday before the Mets series begins. So, Frelick's time is coming and there's a real chance that he misses just one more game. That would mean that he returns for the series opener vs. the Mets. At this moment, it's unclear which game he will return for in the Mets series, but Frelick is about to return.
When he does return, Milwaukee will have to figure out how to best integrate him to the lineup, while also managing the playing time of Jackson Chourio, Garrett Mitchell and Luis Lara. Plus, Jake Bauers has been getting time in the outfield.
Frelick's playing time has been in right field this season after spending the last few years as a utility guy. On his rehab assignment, he has been playing right field as well. It's going to be difficult to get enough at-bats for all of these guys, but it's better to have more talent, not less. It's going to be a good problem to have.
If you're a Brewers fan hoping to get Frelick back in the lineup, you're about to get what you're hoping for.
