Cardinals Could Call Upon Surging Top Pitching Prospect To Bolster Rotation

In this story:
The St. Louis Cardinals' rocky start to the season has only continued to get worse and unreliable pitching is a big culprit to blame.
With the season moving along steadfastly and the trade deadline approaching, the Cardinals will have to look for help. Fortunately, their fourth-highest-rated pitching prospect is steamrolling.
Michael McGreevy -- the Cardinals' No. 5 prospect according to MLB Pipeline -- appears to have found his groove.
The 22-year-old is 7-1 with a 3.34 ERA, 59-to-18 strikeout-to-walk ratio, .281 batting average against and 1.38 WHIP in 72 1/3 innings Triple-A Memphis and Double-A Springfield across 13 outings.
McGreevy's viscosity combined with his early dominance is enough to warrant attention -- but his last start was truly eye-opening.
"No. 6 Cardinals prospect Michael McGreevy has an impressive outing, collecting nine strikeouts over six innings of work for Triple-A Memphis" according to MLB.com this past Sunday.
The Cardinals are at the point in their season where they need all the help they can get. With McGreevy seemingly finding his groove and producing wins for Memphis, perhaps it may be time for the young stud to start producing wins for St. Louis.
McGreevy only has ten starts in Triple-A and a promotion in the immediate future would be aggressive but the Cardinals don't have time to sit around and wait. If they refrain from being proactive in the trade market, this in-house rising star could bolster the rotation.
