D-backs Reportedly Extend Manager Torey Lovullo

In this story:
With the Diamondbacks off to a 35-24 start, the team reportedly has extended manager Torey Lovullo through the 2024 season according to MLB reporter Steve Gilbert. The extension could be announced as early as Sunday.
Lovullo came to Arizona along with general manager Mike Hazen after the 2016 season. During his tenure, the longest in franchise history at eight seasons, the D-backs are 446-483. In Lovullo's first season with Arizona, the D-backs won 93 games to earn a Wild Card berth and National League Manger of the Year honors. In his first three years at the helm, the team was 260-226. The following three years, which could be described as a rebuild phase, they were 151-233.
The past two seasons, Lovullo has been operating year-to-year as the D-backs manager. After the 2021 season, he signed an extension that covered the 2022 season with an option for 2023. The option was exercised after the team exhibited improved play in the second half of the 2022 season, with a 34-36 record after the All-Star break. The front office's patience in keeping Lovullo at the helm has paid off to start the 2023 season, with Arizona emerging as a surprise contender not only for the a Wild Card spot, but also in the National League West division race.
Under Lovullo's guidance, we've seen key contributors on this year's team emerge over the years. Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly, Ketel Marte, Christian Walker, Geraldo Perdomo, and Corbin Carroll come as the obvious examples, as players who have been in the organization for years. This season you can make the case for Gallen, Kelly, and Carroll to be All-Stars.
