Dodgers: MLB Has High Expectations for Julio Urias in the WBC

The pitcher was named as one of the top left-handed pitchers to watch in the tournament.

He’s a huge reason Los Angeles won the World Series in 2020, and has been able to weather injuries that depleted the starting rotation during that period. The third-place finisher in 2022 NL Cy Young Award voting will be taking the mound for his native Mexico for the first time in the WBC.”

Urias is set to represent his home country, Mexico, and he will be joined by Dodgers teammate Austin Barnes.

The lefty has been with the Dodgers organization since 2016, and since then he has established himself as one of the top left-handed pitchers in the game. In his time with the Dodgers, Urias has put up impressive numbers and has been a valuable asset as both a starter and reliever.
