Tuesday's trade deadline compared to last year was kind of a mild one. It kind of felt like a stalemate all day up until the last hour. Most of the Dodgers' moves came days before the deadline, and even on deadline day, the Dodgers were snubbed by one of their top targets.

Ultimately, the Dodgers got their bullpen help in Joe Kelly and maybe Ryan Yarbrough, they got their starting pitching help in Lance Lynn, and they got two solid right-handed bats in Kiké Hernandez and Amed Rosario.

So why does it seem like the Dodgers didn't really do much at the deadline?

Well, the team missed out on trading for that "big name" like Justin Verlander, Lucas Giolito or Jack Flaherty, and instead went for solid options that won't cost them very much after this year.

Freddie Freeman still believes the Dodgers are the team to beat in the NL West, and he feels confident that LA made the right moves at the trade deadline.

“We added five guys over the last week. A lot of them contributed big today and over the last few days,” Freeman said. “So we feel good. We love our team. We had a first-place team going into the deadline. We’ve got a first-place team coming out of the deadline. So we like what we’ve got in this clubhouse right now.”

Lance Lynn was huge in the win on Tuesday. He was the first Dodgers pitcher to go seven inning since Clayton Kershaw on June 20, and if that's any sign of what's to come from him, the Dodgers bullpen should love coming to work every day that he is on the mound.

Kiké Hernandez also picked up his first RBI's back with the Dodgers with a huge bases-loaded double in the bottom of the fourth to put the Dodgers up 4-0.

I believe in Andrew Friedman. And with Ryan Pepiot on his way back to the rotation, and hopefully Walker Buehler back for a September playoff push, the Dodgers didn't really have to trade for another starting pitcher.
