Jake Reed has had quite the rollercoaster of an MLB career thus far. The right-hander has been a part of eight organizations in his career, and has done a lot of moving around. Let's jump right in:

Reed was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2014 MLB Draft, but never played for their big league ball club. He was there for a while, before moving on, and signing minor league deal with the Los Angeles Angels in 2020. However, he also never played with their big league ball club.

Reed signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2021, and finally made his MLB debut on July 6, 2021. However, two weeks later, he was designated for assignment.

Four days later, Reed was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Rays. And then, five days later, he was designated for assignment by them. Quick visit.

Next it was the New York Mets' turn to take a chance on Reed. They claimed him off waivers on August 2, 2021, and he played for their big league ball club in parts of the 2021 and 2022 seasons. However, in July of 2022, his time in New York came to an end, and he was designated for assignment.

Fortunately, an old friend was interested, as the Dodgers claimed him off waivers in July, and he made five appearances with the team. But you can guess how his time in LA ended — he was DFA'd in September of 2022.

Reed was then claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles, and made eight relief appearances, before, yes, being designated for assignment.

Reed was then claimed off waivers by the Boston Red Sox, but DFA'd shortly after. Then, he was claimed off waivers by, yes, the Dodgers. Then, they DFA'd him. That time, he cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A. And then, last week, he was called up to the big league squad.

Reed made one appearance against the Chicago Cubs, allowing six earned runs in 0.2 innings. Then, on April 22, he got DFA'd, per the team's transaction log. However, he cleared waivers, and was outrighted to Triple-A on April 24.

So, Reed is currently with the Dodgers organization at the Triple-A level with the Oklahoma City Dodgers. Knowing his history, though, that probably won't be where he remains for this entire season. Hopefully he's on a good frequent flyer program.
