The Los Angeles Dodgers are switching to a six-man rotation heading into their upcoming road trip against the Washington Nationals and Toronto Blue Jays

The Dodgers opened the season with a five-man unit, featuring Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Emmet Sheehan, Roki Sasaki and Shohei Ohtani. The back-to-back World Series champions will be adding a familiar face to the rotation early next week in hybrid pitcher Justin Wrobleski.

The Dodgers rotation for the series in Washington D.C. will be Sheehan, Glasnow and Sasaki. Then, Wrobleski will open the World Series rematch for the Dodgers at the Rogers Centre against the Blue Jays.

Wrobleski posted a 4.32 ERA with 76 strikeouts across 66.2 innings pitched last season. He pitched four innings in relief on Monday against the Cleveland Guardians, allowing three runs with two strikeouts.

Throughout 2025, Wrobleski was called up from Triple-A to make spot starts for LA as the rotation dealt with ongoing injuries to their staple starters. The Dodgers continue to deal with health issues in 2026 as Blake Snell began the season on the injured list.

Wrobleski pitched in relief for the Dodgers in the postseason, but didn't make an appearance for the team until the World Series. The left-hander played a pivotal role for the team against the Blue Jays as he somewhat filled in for Alex Vesia.

Wrobleski tossed five scoreless innings against Toronto, punching out six with no walks.

Now, the Dodgers will look for him to replicate a strong performance early in 2026 against the World Series runners-up.

Tensions will surely be high at the Rogers Centre as it's only been a few months since the wild ending of the 2025 Fall Classic.

The left-hander was involved in a World Series brawl as both benches cleared after Wrobleski plunked infielder Andres Gimenez on the hand during the fourth inning of Game 7. Wrobleski and Gimenez had to be separated from each other after exchanging words.

Blue Jays fans have not forgotten and Wrobleski is eager to return to the place where he earned the first World Series ring of his career.

“It’s gonna be great,” Wrobleski said. “They’re gonna boo me and it’s gonna be really awesome. That’s what makes sports great, I think. If I were a Toronto fan, I probably wouldn’t like me either.”

Dodgers Won't Visit White House During Nationals Series

Before the Dodgers take on the American League's best, LA will have to get through the Nationals over Easter weekend.

During their trip to Washington last year, the Dodgers visited the White House.

They will not be doing the same in 2026.

According to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register, a scheduling conflict won't allow the Dodgers to visit the Oval Office. However, the team reportedly still plans to go later in the year.

"Citing an unnamed White House official, the New York Post reported that the Trump administration has extended the traditional invitation to the White House and the Dodgers have accepted. However, scheduling issues will prevent the team from visiting during its series against the Nationals," Plunkett reported earlier this year.
