CLEVELAND - Lorenzo Cain was a lifetime 13-for-36 against Carlos Carrasco entering Wednesday's game at Progressive Field. He came to the plate with a chance to do some major damage with the bases loaded and two outs in the 2nd inning.

Carrasco fell behind in the count, and home plate umpire Quinn Wolcott called what Cain did not feel was a strike to make it a full count.

After a foul ball, Carrasco went back to the fastball, and got Cain to fly out to right to end the threat, and eventually spark the Indians to a 3-1 win.

Carrasco seemed to settle in after getting Cain, and wound up throwing seven innings of one run ball, striking out 10 in the victory.

Michael Brantley and Jose Ramirez drove in runs for the Indians in the 5th to give them the lead for good, and the sweep was complete with a nifty four-out save by closer Cody Allen.

Now at 32-28, the Indians will get a rest day before heading to Detroit to start a weekend series with the Tigers on Friday night.

Here's three takeaways from Wednesday's win for the Wahoo's.

1. A Bounce Back for Carlos

The last two outings for Carlos Carrasco were not so good, allowing five runs on seven hits to the Astros on May 26th, and June 1st he was beat up by the Twins for six runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings.

After the key out in the second on Cain, Carrasco seemed to get more focused, as while he allowed four hits and a walk along with a run the rest of the way, he was more poised than the last two outings in which he seemed off most of the day.

The 10 K outing was the 17th career outing in which Carrasco had struck out 10 or more batters, and in two games against the Brew Crew this year he struck out 24 batters in 16 innings.

On the day he went seven innings, allowing one run on seven hits with the 10 K's and now at 7-4 his ERA sits at 4.23 on the season.

2. More Magic from the Pen

The Indians bullpen has a long way to go to settle people's nerves once the starters leave the game, but Wednesday was another step in the right direction, as the threesome of Neil Ramirez, Oliver Perez and Cody Allen combined to go the final two innings for the win.

Ramirez and Allen both pitched the last two days, and while Allen gave up a run on Tuesday and Ramirez a lead off single on Wednesday, both have been impressive the last two days.

Perez could find more chances out of the pen if he can come in and do like he did on Wednesday, striking out dangerous Travis Shaw to clear the way for Allen to enter the game and get the four-out save.

For Allen, it's two saves in less than 24 hours, not an easy feat against a very good first place Brewers team that can do damage at the plate.

3. Show Us Some Speed

The Indians by in large are not a threatening team on the base paths, but Wednesday it was one Indians player primarily getting a chance to play that caused havoc with his speed.

That player was Rajai Davis, who hitting in the nine hole went 2-for-3 with a walk, and three steals in the 3-1 win.

His steal in the fifth got the team going, and he scored when Michael Brantley beat the shift and hit a roller past short, just off the glove of infielder Eric Sogard.

Now with 11 steals on the year, Davis leads the team by a four steal margin over Jose Ramirez, and he's again making it tough to think about him not being on the this roster once injured players Brandon Guyer and Tyler Naquin return.
