It was another ugly day for the Indians at Coors Field in Colorado, as the latest road trip for the team is in the books with a bad 8-1 loss to the Rockies.

Trevor Bauer was beat up in just 3.1 innings, and Kyle Freeland held the Indians offense to one run on six hits in 6.1 innings, his only mistake a Jose Ramirez solo homer.

The trip ends with the Indians going 1-4, the lone win a Sunday beat down of the Royals. The teams' record as they will get a Thursday off is now 29-28, 17-14 away from Progressive Field.

Here's our three takeaways from the teams' latest loss, as the team will come home and get ready for a six-game homestand against the White Sox and Dodgers.

1. Boy oh Boy Bauer

Indians starter Trevor Bauer was coming off a career outing last week against the A's, an outing in which he struck out a career-high 14 in a win at Progressive Field.

Wednesday, he walked five and didn't make it out of the fourth inning, allowing four runs on five hits in going 3.1 in an awful effort.

He struck out three, but so what, it was an outing that saw him have to throw 86 pitches just to get into the fourth inning, and he was only able to throw 49 strikes.

The loss puts him at 5-5 on the season, and his ERA is back up over 6 at 6.10. We've seen up and down pitching in the past from Bauer, and that was a formula for disaster against the Rockies Wednesday afternoon.

Bauer is set to get a start at home against the Dodgers next week, as with two off days before then he will likely start Tuesday at home.

2. Putrid Day at the Plate

The Tribe offense stunk up Coors Field on Wednesday, as they scored just one single run after scoring three on Tuesday in a lopsided loss.

The lone run came when Jose Ramirez hit a solo homer in the 7th to cut the Colorado lead from 5-0 to 5-1, and then when Colorado plated two more in the 7th that run quickly meant little.

The two games in Colorado was no treat for the Indians, who maybe felt hitting in the thin air of Colorado would be an advantage to their hitters.

In the two games at Coors they scored 4 runs on 14 hits, striking out 12 times and walking just twice.

It was nothing to write home about, and the offense will limp home and get ready to try and rebound starting Friday against the White Sox and righty Miguel Gonzalez, who helped the Sox beat the Indians 10-4 back on April 13th, going 4.2 allowing 3 runs on 8 hits.

3. Coming Home

This latest road trip can be described in one simple word - ugly.

The Tribe, following winning three out of four against the Bad News A's proceeded to go on the road against the Royals and Rockies and drop four out of five.

Ouch.

It happened with a shutout Friday, a trouncing on Saturday, their only win Sunday, and then two bad games in Colorado to a Rockies team that while playing better than expected in 2017, is a team that is just three games over .500 at home.

It's been the same mind numbing thing over and over with this Indians team, and it's the reason why many think they are going to falter in the end. They can't get consistent and get on a roll like they did back in 2016 when they took over the division with a long win streak and maintained that level of play into the World Series.

Now they will come home for a homestand that will see them take on the White Sox, who they should take advantage of being six games under .500 entering play Wednesday and back in fourth in the division, and the Dodgers, who are a contender in the NL West behind the Rockies, a game and a half back.

Is there going to be a point either where this team turns the corner for good? Or is this inconsistent bunch going to wallow in their up and down play all season?

Only they can answer that question.
