2024 Guardians Spring Training Players Of The Game: Game 21

Cleveland's Daniel Schneemann, Raynel Delgado, Tyler Beede, and Scott Barlow each had a solid performance in the team's 6-1 victory over a Kansas City Royals split squad.

The Cleveland Guardians earned their eighth 2024 Cactus League win with a 6-1 victory over a Kansas City Royals split squad yesterday afternoon.

With 90 players representing the Guardians during spring training (40-man roster, 22 non-roster invitees, and 28 depth camp players), each game’s roster will vary.

Based on Cleveland’s roster for yesterday’s game and their performances in the contest, here are four Players of the Game.

Daniel Schneemann, 3B/SS

The 27-year-old non-roster invitee added to his impressive spring in the top of the seventh inning.

In his first plate appearance of the day, Schneemann hit his first triple of the spring, which drove in two runs and extended the Guardians’ lead to 4-0. He later walked in the top of the ninth inning.

In 13 games so far this spring, Schneemann is hitting .375 with nine hits, two doubles, one home run, six RBI, three walks, three strikeouts, and a 1.111 OPS.

Raynel Delgado, 2B/3B

The 23-year-old non-roster invitee was responsible for the game’s first two runs.

Immediately before Schneemann’s triple, Delgado hit a two-run single in his first plate appearance of the contest to give Cleveland a 2-0 advantage.

This base knock gave Delgado his fourth hit and third and fourth RBI of the spring.

Tyler Beede, RHP

The 30-year-old non-roster invitee had an efficient second start (fourth appearance) of the spring.

Beede pitched five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and one walk, while throwing three strikeouts. He ended up facing just 17 batters.

Scott Barlow, RHP

The 31-year-old reliever pitched his second consecutive perfect inning.

Barlow struck out the final two hitters he faced in the bottom of the seventh inning en route to his second win of the spring.
