New York Mets Prospect Who Made Major Leap in 2023

In this story:
The New York Mets have been able to showcase their top prospects at the MLB level during September and it was been met with rave reviews.
Many of these players look like they'll be Major League contributors with some potentially making the 2024 Opening Day roster.
While all eyes are on the prospects with the Mets' jersey on, there's another who might have made the biggest leap of all this season.
New York selected Jett Williams out of high school with their first round pick in 2022 with the idea that he would be a long term project.
That doesn't seem to be the case anymore after his first professional season.
MLB.com writes, "Williams was a favorite of scouts when he went 14th overall to the Mets last year, but many would have thought he’d be more of a project than a quick riser. Instead, he climbed three levels in his age-19 season because his walk-heavy approach played exceptionally well at both Single-A and High-A this summer with OBPs above .420 at both stops. A plus runner, he swiped 45 bags too and got time at two premium positions in short and center."
The talented prospect is the No. 3 ranked player in the Mets' pipeline and No. 78 overall.
What will be interesting to see is what position they push him towards as he continues to play at the minor league level.
The infield seems like it will be full with Francisco Lindor locked into shortstop for multiple years and many MLB ready prospects set to take over at second and third base.
Outfield would likely be the position that he could break through the easiest.
That's still a long ways away, however, as Williams is projected to make his MLB debut during the 2026 season.
