Your San Diego Padres know better than anybody else what it's like to be on top of the world one day and then receive all the criticism the next. Despite all of the jokes and Twitter hate, I do think the MLB world wants to see them succeed. The league would be in a better place with the Friars living up to expectations and serving as yet another contender in a versatile division.

But contention is not something we can place in the same sentence as this squad right now. They remain below .500 and every time they get the opportunity to make a run and get back in the wild card spot, their bats go cold. This was supposed to be a squad that was going to boast one of the most lethal offenses we've ever seen.

And through all of their struggles and turmoil, the fans have remained as loyal and supportive as ever. Petco Park audiences may rain down boo's when the Padres are deserving of it but they continue to sell out games at a historic rate and contribute on their end to help to help the team succeed.

Unfortunately, it has been at Petco Park where the Friars have suffered a number of heartbreaking losses already and have been unable to close out tight matches. This was most recently on display in their 2-0 loss to the Washington Nationals on Saturday.

"Last night was the 12th game the Padres have lost by one or two runs at Petco Park this season. They won with a walk-off home run in their third home game of the season and have not had a walk-off win since. They have been walked off seven times."

Will the Friars be able to turn things around soon or will some guys be on the wrong side of some big moves before the trade deadline?
