In this story:

It truly was an amazing couple of weeks for San Diego sports, some that will go down in the history books. Not only did the Padres finally kick off their long-awaited 2023 season and break records with attendance, but San Diego State University also wrapped up their best men's basketball season ever.

Making it to the Elite 8 was already a feat that the school had never experienced. However, these phenomenal athletes did not stop there and made it all the way to the championship game. Even though they lost 76-59 to UCONN, they defied all odds on the way there and built themselves a legacy.

We also got one of the best game-winners in recent history during their Final Four match against Florida Atlantic University to punch their ticket to the last dance.

Matt Bradley, one of the best players on SDSU, recently revealed that Joe Musgrove reached out to him after their loss in the title match and shared some advice.

Bradley averaged 12 points and 35% from the three-point land in 39 games with the Aztecs.

The San Diego Padres showed their support for SDSU during their March Madness run in so many ways and it was beautiful to see a city that most do consider a sports one come together and unite during some big weeks.

Players and team officials were captured rocking jerseys of the Aztecs, recorded in interviews voicing their love for the squad, and Petco Park also broadcasted the game on their Jumbotron hours before the Friars hit the field.

Bradley also thanked the Padres franchise and fanbase as a whole for riding with them the entire month.

"To see the Padres posting us, playing during their game just shows the closeness of San Diego and how everybody supports each other."
