The Philadelphia Phillies (6-10) defeated the Cincinnati Reds (6-9) on Sunday in a blowout fashion. The 14-3 affair even the series at two games apiece as it came to a close.

Philadelphia's offense was instantly kickstarted with a Bryson Stott leadoff home run in the top of the first. It was his first career leadoff home run. That opened the flood gates as eight more runs would score in the eighth to give ace Aaron Nola nine runs of cushion before he even took the mound.

Every player in the lineup recorded a hit and an RBI on the day. It was one of those days when the lineup was clicking.

Nola finally looked like himself on Sunday when he threw 6.0 innings and gave up just two earned runs. It was his first quality start of the season and his best appearance of the season.

Connor Brogdon, Craig Kimbrel, and Luis Ortiz came on in relief and allowed no runs in 3.0 innings pitched.

Overall, it was the type of performance that the reigning National League champions were looking for. They will try and capitalize on the momentum created as they travel to Chicago to take on the White Sox for a three-game series that begins on Monday.

Zack Wheeler will take the mound for the Phillies and will face Lance Lynn with a first pitch scheduled at 7:10 p.m. ET at Guaranteed Rate Field.
