How To Watch Philadelphia Phillies Opening Day vs. Atlanta Braves

The Philadelphia Phillies are set to open the 2024 MLB season at home at Citizens Bank Park against the Atlanta Braves.

The Philadelphia Phillies will open the regular season at Citizens Bank Park on Friday against the Atlanta Braves.

The game was originally set to be played on Thursday, but the threat of severe weather on the east coast prompted the Phillies to postpone the game to what was the scheduled off-day for the series.

The Phillies are coming off a 2023 in which they made the playoffs as a Wild Card team for the second straight season. After sweeping the Miami Marlins in the Wild Card playoffs, the Phillies defeated the Braves — the NL East champions — in the NLDS Divisional round. It was the second straight season the Phillies beat the Braves in the playoffs.

But, the Phillies missed a shot at their second straight trip to the World Series by losing in seven games to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL Championship Series.

The Phillies’ biggest offseason acquisitions were internal, as they were able to retain pitcher Aaron Nola in free agency and then signed pitcher Zack Wheeler to a three-year extension.

Here is the preview for the game, with probable pitchers, starting lineups, how to watch and listen, injury updates and more.
