Philadelphia Phillies Remain at Top of NL Wild Card Entering Cardinals Series

The Philadelphia Phillies fell to the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday but held their place in the National League Wild Card race.
The Phillies (79-67) ended up losing three out of four games to the Atlanta Braves. But, as the week has unfolded they’ve remained at the top of the Wild Card standings, holding a lead over the Chicago Cubs and the rest of the field.
With the day off on Thursday, the Phillies now have time to prepare for their series with the St. Louis Cardinals, which starts on Friday.
As for the field behind the Phils, the race for the final spot is being contested by four teams separated by one game.
