Philadelphia Phillies Trade Deadline Rumor/Deal Tracker

In this story:
The Major League Baseball trade deadline is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Aug. 2. The Philadelphia Phillies are one of several teams geared up for a big move.
Though they'll be looking for improvements at center field and in the rotation, Juan Soto and Shohei Ohtani remain the grand prizes of the market. Unfortunately, it seems the Phillies are out on both players.
Nevertheless, the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and St. Louis Cardinals remain in the hunt for Soto.
Who will nab the grand prize and who might the Phillies acquire before Tuesday at 6 p.m.?
Michael Fulmer to Twins

Hosmer has declined to go to the Nats in the Soto deal as is his contractual right. The deal is still happening. Soto is a Padre.
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) August 2, 2022
Sources: #Padres and Eric Hosmer’s representatives currently negotiating about what it would take for Hosmer to approve his trade to the #Nats. The Juan Soto/Josh Bell blockbuster — in its current form — is contingent on Hosmer’s assent. @MLB @MLBNetwork
— Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) August 2, 2022
To be clear, the Juan Soto/Josh Bell blockbuster hinges on Eric Hosmer's permission for the deal to move forward. The #Nats are on his no-trade list. @MLBNetwork @MLB

#MNTwins and Phillies are among teams on Reds righthander Tyler Mahle. Underrated pitcher who’s been very good lately.
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) August 2, 2022
Many teams have called on Pablo Lopez and Trevor Rogers, two young Marlins starters. The Marlins are decimated by injuries and now out of the race, but with years of control, they don’t have to deal them. They are envisioning an Alcantara, Lopez, Eury Perez rotation top in ‘23.
— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) August 2, 2022
As the trade deadline approaches, there is a growing sense that the Padres are the most likely landing spot for Juan Soto — and, in a twist, perhaps Josh Bell too. Multiple people have heard there’s momentum in those talks.

— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) August 1, 2022

— Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) August 1, 2022
But I've also heard from multiple teams that the #Phillies haven't just said no on their 2 top-100 pitching prospects, Painter & Abel, but also on Griff McGarry, Ben Brown & Logan O'Hoppe
