Texas Rangers, DFW Teams Partner on City Connect Theme Nights

The Texas Rangers are taking their City Connect jerseys to another level in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks and FC Dallas.

The Texas Rangers have announced some of their theme nights for 2024 and they’ve decided to take their City Connect jerseys, introduced last season, to a whole new level.

This season the Rangers will have theme nights built around the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks and FC Dallas, with City Connect-themed jerseys in the style of those teams’ jerseys for each night.

The dates are set, but one night’s jerseys are already sold out, per the Rangers’ website.

The Dallas Stars’ theme night, set for July 2 against the San Diego Padres, is already sold out. That night’s jersey is black and white with the Peagle across the front and a number across the back.

The Cowboys’ City Connect night is set for June 18 against the New York Mets. That jersey features the number of Cowboy star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

The Mavericks’ City Connect night is set for July 24 against the Chicago White Sox. Unlike the Cowboys’ jersey, which is black with white trim, the Mavs’ jersey is white with black trim and features the number of the team’s star, Luke Doncic.

The FC Dallas City Connect night is set for Aug. 5 against the Houston Astros. That jersey is in white with black and red trim with the FC Dallas logo in the front left corner.

The Rangers introduced the City Connect jerseys last season, their first dip into the Nike alternate jerseys. The design of the jersey was inspired by the area’s baseball history and minor league teams, including the Dallas Eagles, Fort Worth Panthers and Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs.

The “Peagle,” which became the most popular part of the jersey, was created as a combination of a panther and an eagle.
