Texas Rangers Shortstop Corey Seager Starting Rehab Stint at Double-A

In this story:
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager begins a rehab assignment Thursday at Double-A Frisco, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Seager, out since April 12 with a left hamstring strain, will start at shortstop for the RoughRiders and play five innings or get three at-bats. The hope is that Seager returns to the Rangers on the next homestand.
The Rangers conclude a 10-game road trip Sunday at the Oakland Athletics. The Rangers open a six-game run at Globe Life Field on Monday against the Atlanta Braves. That three-game series will be followed by a series with the Colorado Rockies.
Seager has been participating in baseball activities for more than two weeks, including defensive drills, throwing and swinging the bat. Bochy wants to see Seager run effectively before he returns to the lineup.
Seager suffered a hamstring injury once with the Los Angeles Dodgers and needed about a month to recover. He's currently on about the same timeline.
Seager is expected to get a start at designated hitter on Friday. The RoughRiders are at home playing Wichita.
