Astros Take Shine Off Texas Rangers Attendance Record

In this story:
ARLINGTON, Texas – The series didn’t exactly go the way the Texas Rangers were hoping but something positive did come out of their four-game series against the Houston Astros.
The Rangers set a four-game attendance record at Globe Life Field with four sellouts, including 38,936 in Monday’s 12-11 loss.
The first-place Rangers hold a three-game lead on the Astros in the American League West division.
It's the first time the franchise has sold out all four games of a four-game series since moving to Arlington in 1972. Globe Life Field opened in 2020.
Crowds of 39,174, 40,380, and 39,580 watched the Astros win Game 1 Friday, the Rangers win Game 2 (in front of a Globe Life Field record attendance), and the Astros wins in Games 3 and 4. Of course, a sizeable portion of the crowds included Astros fans. That was evident each time the Astros scored.
The four consecutive sellouts are the most for the Rangers since they had five consecutive sellouts June 29-July 7, 2012
The four-game total of 158,070 fans is a record for any series at Globe Life Field. The previous record of 133,347 was set Oct. 3-5, 2022, in a season-ending series against the New York Yankees.
Monday was the Rangers' ninth sellout this season.
The last time the Rangers had at least four consecutive sellouts in a single homestand was a six-game stretch April 23-29, 2012 against the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays.
