Cincinnati Reds Split Two Games in Goodyear

The Cincinnati Reds went 1-1 on Monday in their first split squad scrimmage of the spring.
They lost to the Mariners 2-0 in the first game.
Andrew Abbot got the start, pitching two scoreless innings. He didn't allow any hits and had one strikeout.
Lucas Sims has been a name to watch during the offseason camp. He performed well with one strikeout and no hits in one inning.
Brent Suter made his Reds debut, tossing a scoreless inning. The Mariners earned two runs off of Tyler Gilbert in the eighth to secure the win.
The Reds beat the Brewers in their second game of the day.
Nick Martinez got the start, tossing two innings without allowing a hit. He finished with two strikeouts and one walk.
Elly De La Cruz had another impressive outing, finishing 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run.
Stuart Fairchild hit a home run for the second game in a row.
Tyler Callihan went 2-for-2 with a RBI and two runs.
Chase Petty allowed two hits, issued a walk and gave up one run in his spring debut.
Rece Hinds hit a home run as a pinch hitter. He's been one of the fast-rising Reds prospects and was dominant all year long in Double-A Chattanooga.
Rhett Lowder then made his long-awaited Reds debut. The former Wake Forest pitcher gave up one hit in an inning of work.
