After Using an Offensive Slur During a Reds Broadcast, Thom Brennaman's Apology Was Not Enough
Brennaman used the slur during game 1 but was still in place for game 2 later that night.
The use of an anti-LGBTQ slur Wednesday by Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman during the Red and Royals broadcast of game 1 of a double header has stretched beyond the sports world overnight. He would apologize on air and remain in his position to call game 2. SI’s Jimmy Traina wonders how such an egregious act, and perhaps lackluster apology, will lead to more action from the Red and/or FOX Sports Ohio.
