The National League MVP looks like it will have an historic outcome if either of the frontrunners win it, reports SI Senior Writer Tom Verducci.

If the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts wins, he'll become only the second player to win it in both the American League and the National League.

If San Diego Padres phenom Fernando Tatis Jr. wins it, he'll become the youngest to ever win the prestigious award.

And while Mookie may have pulled ahead after Tatis had an underwhelming week at the plate, Tatis is not the kind of player you should ever count out.
