Tampa Bay Rays Clinch Their First Division Title Since 2020
The Tampa Bay Rays beat the New York Mets 8-5 on Wednesday night and clinched the AL East title.
This is the Ray's first division title since 2010 and only the third in their franchise history. It’s also the first time in 5 years that a team other than the Boston Red Sox or New York Yankees has won the AL East.
Tampa Bay has gone 37-20 in the shortened season and are also on target to be the top seed in the American League. The Rays celebrated the win on the field with confetti on Wednesday night.
