On Monday, the Baseball Writers' Association of America announced the top 3 finalists for the AL Cy Young Award. Cleveland Indians pitcher Shane Bieber joins Minnesota Twins right-hander Kenta Maeda and Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu on the list of finalists. At this time though, Bieber is considered to be the favorite. The 25-year-old right-hander leads the major leagues in wins, ERA, and strikeouts. Bieber went 8-1 with a 1.63 ERA and had 122 strikeouts in 77⅓ innings. The winner of the AL Cy Young Award will be announced next week.
