The New York Yankees are back on the road after an off-day and will face the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field starting on Friday.

The New York Yankees are off to a red-hot start and will head to Cleveland to take on the Guardians in a three-game series that starts on Friday.

The Yankees (10-3) are coming off a 5-2 loss to the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, which snapped a four-game winning streak. But, the Yankees have won all four of the series they’ve play so far this season, including a four-game sweep of the Houston Astros to open the season.

The Yankees put red-hot shortstop Anthony Volpe in the leadoff spot for the first time on Wednesday as the Yankees make minor tweaks to a lineup that has been among the best in baseball after two weeks.

Giancarlo Stanton leads the team with four home runs. But, more importantly, he’s batting .256. Volpe is one of five Yankees with two home runs, and his .372 batting average leads the team, but not by much. Juan Soto is batting .360.

Starting pitcher Carlos Rodón seems to have put last season behind him, as well. He’s 1-0 with a 1.72 ERA in three starts and has struck out 13 against seven walks. Marcus Stroman has been a workhorse (1-1, 17 innings pitched), as has Nestor Cortes (1-1, 18 innings pitched).

The starting pitching has helped the bullpen, which is led by Clay Holmes and his five saves.
