Ronda Rousey: I can beat Floyd Mayweather in no-rules fight

Undefeated UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey says she could beat any fighter, including welterweight Floyd Mayweather, in a fight without rules.

Undefeated UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey says she could beat any fighter, including welterweight Floyd Mayweather, in a fight without rules.

Rousey participated in an Ask Me Anything chat on Reddit on Monday, and was asked if she could beat Mayweather in a fight without rules.

“Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time,” Rousey said. “He would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don't get into 'matches.' I fight for a living.

“In a no-rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet,” she added. "Boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at. But you said ruleless fight, and that's my honest answer.”

Rousey’s comments come days after Mayweather responded to comments made about him at this year’s ESPY’s.

Rousey's dominance keeps her atop SI.com's pound-for-pound rankings

“I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” Rousey said at the ESPY's. “I'd like to see him pretend to not know who I am now. I know for damn sure that he knew who I was, because he was running against me for Best Fighter that year and he has signed MMA fighters.”

Mayweather responded by commenting about how he made more money than any athlete last year.

“I’ve yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes,” Mayweather said. “When she can do that, then call me.”

Mayweather (48-0, 26 KOs) will fight Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) on Sept. 12 in the last in his lucrative six-fight deal with Showtime/CBS.

Rousey is 12-0 after a 34-second knockout over Bethe Correia at UFC 190. Rousey’s next fight has not been determined, but Cris (Cyborg) Justino say she is willing to drop down to 135 pounds to fight Rousey.

Justino weighed in at 144.6 pounds for her previous fight in July, a first-round TKO victory over Faith Van Duin at Invicta FC 13.

“She's just waiting to be offered enough money to get her ass kicked ('cuz she knows she'll get her ass kicked),” Rousey said. “I know for a fact she can make the weight. She made 145 pumped full of steroids. She can healthily make 135 without them. Her shows that she headlines lose thousands of dollars, and the majority of the tickets are given away because no one will buy them. She needs me.” -- Scooby Axson
