Prognosis: The Czechs underachieved at last World Cup with a first-round exit, but a strong qualifying campaign makes them a favorite to advance to the quarterfinals here.

Prognosis: Portugal struggled to qualify for Euro 2008, but it has proven its quality at the last two major championships, reaching the final at home in Euro 2004 and making the semifinals at the World Cup. Anything short of the quarterfinals this time will be a huge disappointment.
