Nets, Clippers agree to Evans deal

The Clippers have agreed to send forward Reggie Evans to the Nets in a sign-and-trade deal, a source confirmed to SI.com.

According to the source, Evans' deal is for three years with an average annual salary of $1.6 million. While it remains to be seen exactly which teammates the 32-year-old Evans will play with, he is a brutish bargain for a team that continues to upgrade its roster while waiting on a verdict from free-agent point guard Deron Williams.

Williams visited with Brooklyn and Dallas officials Monday, and sources said the Nets were hopeful that he would announce his decision by the end of Tuesday. According to one source, Williams spent the morning in Brooklyn's training facility, but he didn't indicate which team he would ultimately sign with.

One of the most rugged role players in the league, Evans was a key member of the 2011-12 Clippers team that lost to the Spurs in the Western Conference semifinals. The 10-year veteran averaged 4.9 rebounds and 13.8 minutes per game.
