Virginia high school football player dies after being hit during game

A high school football player in Virginia died Friday after he was hit during a game.
Jamond Salley, a junior a Park View High School in South Hill, Va., was receiving medical attention when he lost consciousness and began to have seizures, according to WTVR. He was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. The cause of death was not immediately clear.
"Jamond was a strong student in both academics and as an athlete," the school district superintendent, Dr. James Thornton, said in a statement. "Members of his family, friends and teachers have all shared one common trait of Jamond, he was very respectful. He was a student with a big heart and a smile that would instantly capture your attention."

Noah Cornuet of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, died in August after collapsing during a conditioning session.
Demario Harris, a player from Alabama, died in September, reportedly as the result of a ruptured brain aneurysm.
