The 2020 Olympics in Tokyo are going to cost about six times the original estimate of $2.5 billion, according to a report by Japan Today.

The estimated cost of 1.8 trillion yen converts to about $14.85 billion. According to the report, the increased estimates a result of soaring costs to assure anti-terrorism measures.

The designs for the main Olympic stadium are still under being considered and are expected to cost $1.3 billion.

The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi cost an estimated $51 billion.

Tokyo last hosted the Olympics in 1964. The Japanese capital was initially slated to host the 1940 Summer Games before being moved to Helsinki and later canceled due to World War II.

The 2020 Olympics will be held from July 24 to August 9.
