Video: Sixers' Thaddeus Young hits game-winning three-pointer to beat Bobcats
Thaddeus Young hit a game-winning three-pointer over Josh McRoberts with 3.2 seconds remaining to lift the Sixers to a 95-92 home victory over the Bobcats on Wednesday.
With 15.4 seconds remaining in the game and the score tied at 92, Philadelphia inbounded from the left sideline to Michael Carter-Williams. He worked some of the clock down before using a high screen from Young, which scrambled Charlotte's defense as both McRoberts and Kemba Walker turned their attention to Carter-Williams.
A quick lefty pass from Carter-Williams found Young wide open, as he had darted back behind the three-point line at the left angle. McRoberts closed out hard but Young still buried the three over the top, much to the delight of the Wells Fargo Center crowd.
A Walker three-point attempt on the other end was no good, and Philadelphia held on for the victory.
Young finished with 11 points (on 4-for-11 shooting) and five rebounds. Evan Turner led the Sixers with 23 points (on 10-for-19 shooting), seven rebounds and four assists. Carter-Williams added 20 points (on 8-for-15 shooting), eight rebounds and seven assists.
Walker paced the Bobcats with a game-high 26 points (on 9-for-21 shooting), eight assists and five rebounds. Al Jefferson added 24 points (on 11-for-20 shooting), eight rebounds and four assists in a losing effort.
Philadelphia improved to 13-25 with the win. Charlotte dropped to 16-24 with the loss.
