Video: Tyson Chandler's harsh (but true) analysis of Kevin Love: 'He can't play D'

The Knicks took a brief respite from losing Wednesday night with a 118-106 win over the Timberwolves, snapping a seven-game skid.

Apparently, a solid performance en route to its first victory since Feb. 19 had the Knicks feeling pretty good. With a 66-55 lead at halftime, Knicks center Tyson Chandler was trying to wrap up a forgettable in-game interview as quickly as possible. But he lost his focus ever so slightly and said something of actual substance -- and honesty -- before walking off.

And what a walk-off it was.

After explaining how Kevin Love's ability to spread the floor challenged him as a defender, Chandler was asked how he could exploit Love.

Reporter: "How are you taking advantage of it then?

Chandler: "Huh?"

Reporter: "How can you take advantage of the mismatch on your end?"

Reporter: "Oh! Go at him. He can't play D!"

That cold slap of truth sticks out from the usual carousel of clichés used during player interviews. For all of Love's phenomenal abilities as a scorer, rebounder and passer, he's not a very good defender. Chandler (15 points), Amar'e Stoudemire (18) and Carmelo Anthony (game-high 33) all were able to exploit Love's weakness as a defender at times Wednesday and finish with outputs above their season average.

The 6-foot-10 Love is averaging a career-low-tying 0.4 blocks, but to his credit he's increased his defensive win shares from 0.9 last season to 3.1 this year, according to Basketball-Reference.com. The Wolves also rank No. 12 in defensive efficiency, well ahead of the No. 26 Knicks.

We eagerly await Love's rebuttal and his candid assessment of Chandler and the Knicks.
