Less than 24 hours after announcing he will undergo shoulder surgery that will keep him out seven months, Spurs free agent guard Patty Mills agreed to a three-year deal with the team on Wednesday, according to a tweet from San Antonio Express News reporter Buck Harvey.

He made $1.3 million last year while averaging 10.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 18 minutes per game.

Mills, who turns 26 next month, suffered a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder that he reportedly played with last season. He played an integral role in the playoffs last postseason, hitting a number of clutch threes in Game 5 of the Finals against the Heat to win the NBA championship. He had 14 points in Game 4 and 17 points on 5-8 from three in that final game.
