Report: 'Birdman' re-signs with Heat on multi-year contract

Chris 'Birdman' Andersen has reached an agreement with the Miami Heat to return to Miami on a multi-year contract, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday night. Specific terms of the deal weren't immediately available.

According to Wojnarowski, several teams made last-minute bids for Andersen, including the New York Knicks. In the end, Andersen decided to come back to a place where he has thrived for the past two seasons. In a bit fewer than 20 minutes per game last season, Andersen averaged 6.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks, while shooting better than 64 percent from the field. 

It's been a busy weekend for the Heat, who are moving on without superstar LeBron James. On Friday night, the Heat re-signed forward Chris Bosh to a five-year, $118 million deal. And on Sunday, they signed free agent Luol Deng to a two-year deal, adding to a free-agent haul that includes forwards Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts. And Wojnarowski reported the Heat expect to come to terms with Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem soon.
