Report: Timberwolves balk at Knicks' offer for Kevin Love
The Knicks reportedly offered Iman Shumpert, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Amar'e Stoudemire's expiring contract to the Timberwolves for Kevin Love, but Minnesota balked, Chris Herring of The Wall Street Journal reported Friday evening.

Writes Herring: "The longshot offer, made in the past week, was declined and never stood much of a chance, particularly since the Timberwolves could potentially strike a richer deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers involving No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins. The Chicago Bulls, who have a bevy of intriguing assets to trade, have reportedly had conversations with Minnesota about Love in recent weeks since failing to sign Knicks star Carmelo Anthony in free agency."
Hardaway had a strong rookie year and Shumpert is known as a solid on-ball defender, but the Knicks can't offer the Timberwolves a first-round draft pick in any potential deal until 2018.
Per NBA rules, a team isn't allowed to trade first-round picks in consecutive years, and the Knicks dealt their 2014 and 2016 picks in trades for Carmelo Anthony and Andrea Bargnani, respectively.
