The Hawks' 2014 second-round pick, Walter Tavares, will “very likely” return to Spain.
The Atlanta Hawks' 2014 second-round pick, Walter Tavares, will “very likely” return to Spain next season, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Taveras, a 7-foot-3 inch, 260-pound center, averaged six points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in the Las Vegas Summer League.
He played for Gran Canaria of Spain’s ACB league last season, averaging six points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
“The good thing about (potentially) going overseas, I will definitely play there,” Tavares said to the newspaper. “I will play a lot of minutes and continue to improve my game and get more experience toward the next step of being (in the NBA).”
The ACB season begins Oct. 4.
