Brooklyn Nets to play Maccabi Tel Aviv in preseason

The Brooklyn Nets will open preseason play with a game against Maccabi Tel Aviv in Brooklyn.

Led by former coach David Blatt, now with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Maccabi Tel Aviv won the 2014 Euroleague championship, beating Real Madrid 98-86. Former Boston College standout Tyrese Rice was named the tournament's Final Four MVP. It was the club's sixth Euroleague championship.

The teams will play Oct. 7 at the Barclays Center. The Nets will also play two games against the Sacramento Kings in China.
