Heat sign forward Shawne Williams

The Miami Heat have signed free agent forward Shawne Williams, the team announced Friday.

The Heatannounced Friday that they have signed free agent forward Shawne Williams. 

Williams was taken by the Pacers with the 17th pick in the 2006 draft out of Memphis.

He has played with five different teams in his six NBA seasons. 

Williams has been arrested on drug charges three times since joining the NBA.

Williams last played in the NBA with the Lakers last season. In 36 games he averaged 5.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. After being waived by the Lakers, Williams signed with the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA D-League.
