Celtics' Faverani arrested for drunk driving in Spain

Boston Celtics second-year center Vitor Faverani was arrested in Valencia, Spain, on charges of drunk driving, reported Spanish newspaper El Mercantil Valenciano. Faverani ran a red light and struck a bus, NBCSports reported.  From SBNation's Celtics Blog

Boston Celtics second-year center Vitor Faverani was arrested in Valencia, Spain, on charges of drunk driving, reported Spanish newspaper El Mercantil Valenciano.

Faverani ran a red light and struck a bus, according to translated reports from NBCSports and CelticsBlog. The team had not issued a statement as of Monday night.  

The 6-foot-11 post player was recovering from surgery to repair a torn meniscus he suffered last season.  

Faverani is originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil, but began playing professionally in Spain at the age of 17.

He played in 37 games during the 2013-14 NBA season and averaged 4.4 points per game.
