Washington Wizards forward Drew Gooden will not play for Finland during the 2014 FIBA World Cup, TruthAboutIt.net's Kyle Weidie reports.

According to Weidie, Gooden was unable to obtain citizenship in time to be on the final 12-man roster for the tournament which starts this month. Earlier this month it was reported he was going to play for Finland. His mother is Finnish, but he was raised in the United States.

The 32-year-old Gooden scored 8.3 points and grabbed 5.2 rebounds per game last season for the Wizards. He re-signed with Washington last month.

Gooden's Washington teammates John Wall and Bradley Beal were cut from the United States roster ahead of the World Cup earlier this month.
