Ronnie Brewer sentenced in February drunk driving incident
NBA journeyman Ronnie Brewer entered a plea of no contest Tuesday through his attorney to a misdemeanor charge of drunk driving, according to the Associated Press.
A judge in Los Angeles Superior Court sentenced Brewer to three years probation, mandated he attend 10 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and ordered him to attend three months of alcohol abuse classes, according to Brewer's attorney Stephen Miyata.
The charges stemmed from a drunk driving arrest in Beverly Hills, Calif., in February. His blood-alcohol level at the time of the arrest was .15, RedEye reported. That level is almost twice California's legal limit of .08.
The Houston Rocketssigned Brewer in the 2013 offseason. He played 23 games for the Rockets, averaging roughly seven minutes per game before joining the Chicago Bulls at the end of the 2013-14 season.
