Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson cleared for contact work
New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson announced on Wednesday that he has been cleared to begin contact work.
Anderson sustained a season-ending neck injury during a January game against the Celtics and underwent surgery on his cervical spin for a herniated disc in April.
He announced the news on his Twitter and Instagram accounts:

The 26-year-old has spent six seasons in the NBA with three different teams, and has increased his scoring output each season. In 22 games last season before the injury, he averaged 19.8 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 40 percent from the three-point line.
Anderson won the league's Most Improved Player award in 2012.
