The Atlanta Hawks announced that forward/center Pero Antic will miss several days after surgery to repair a broken nose, Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today reported on Saturday morning.
Antic, entering his second year in the league, suffered the broken nose on Thursday during a training camp practice in Athens, Georgia and had surgery on Friday in Atlanta.
Antic, a 6-foot-11 31-year-old from Macedonia, was a rookie last season for the Hawks. He played in 50 games, starting 26, and averaged 7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.5 minutes per game.
Atlanta finished last season 38-44 and garnered the eighth-seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, before bowing out to the Indiana Pacers in the first round.
