CLEVELAND (AP) New York Knicks starting point guard Jose Calderon is expected to miss at least two weeks with a sprained right calf.

Calderon, who was acquired in a June trade from Dallas as part of the deal for Tyson Chandler, underwent an MRI in New York on Thursday. Coach Derek Fisher hopes to have Calderon back ''in a few weeks.''

Fisher said Calderon's absence will allow the team to get a closer look at Shane Larkin, who started the season opener against Chicago and is with the first five against the Cavaliers.

Calderon sat out the final two preseason games after getting hurt on Oct. 20.

Amare Stoudemire returned to the bench after starting against the Bulls. Quincy Acy was expected to start at power forward alongside Carmelo Anthony.

Fisher said he'll have Stoudemire play center with the second unit.
