CHICAGO (AP) The Chicago Bulls say rookie Doug McDermott will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Saturday.

McDermott missed his fifth straight game Friday against Portland. Coach Tom Thibodeau had said before the game that the former Creighton scoring star would be re-evaluated.

A timetable for McDermott's return will be determined after Saturday's procedure. The No. 11 pick by Denver who was sent to Chicago on draft night was averaging 3.2 points in 17 games.

The Bulls were also without center Joakim Noah, who missed his second straight game with a sprained right ankle.

Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau said Noah was a ''little bit better'' Friday and that Chicago will ''see where he is'' before it plays Sunday in Miami.
