Knicks F Anthony out with left knee soreness

NEW YORK (AP) Carmelo Anthony has been ruled out for the New York Knicks' game against Detroit due to a sore left knee.

Anthony also left New York's 101-79 loss at Portland on Monday with the knee issue. But he returned to the lineup and played 29 minutes in Wednesday's 99-78 loss at the Los Angeles Clippers.

New York had dropped nine in a row heading into Friday night's game against the Pistons. Anthony is averaging a team-best 23.9 points per game.

Amare Stoudemire (sore right knee), Samuel Dalembert (sprained right ankle), Tim Hardaway Jr. (concussion), and Iman Shumpert (dislocated left shoulder) also are out for the Knicks.
